Enhanced relationship to install Crane Magnet Systems

COVID-19 Brings enhanced co-operation with Scheffer Krantechnik – the “Leaders in Crane Technology”

With travel restrictions impacting millions of companies worldwide, Kingfield Technologies and Equipment (KTE) was contracted to work under guidance with SchefferKrantechnik (Scheffer) technicians to install 11 x  3.2T Crane Magnet Systems.

The project entailed a total of 22 Magnet Groups (2 per crane) capable of 70T being lifted in the facility at any one time. The facility located in Altona North, Victoria, Australia expands over 139,000m² of indoor steel storage and is operated by the largest steel distributer in Australia – G.A.M Steel.

With Scheffer’s German based engineers and technicians being unable to travel to Australia, KTE were required to  install & commission the Magnet units on specialised cranes built in Victoria. Using Siemens TIA software, KTE successfully commissioned the magnet groups on time, on budget and to specifications.

Lead KTE Electrical Engineer Jesse Phelan expressed gratitude to the team members at Eilbeck Cranes, GAM Steel and Scheffer for their expert assistance whilst on site.

This exciting project  has enhanced KTE’s ability to commission and service Scheffer cranes and hoists worldwide in conjunction with the specialists at Scheffer in Germany.

We would like to thank Scheffer Krantechnik for this opportunity and very much look forward to continuing to develop our mutually beneficial partnership in the future.
